Minrose Gwin

Fri, 07/30/2010 - 7:00pm

Gwin, a professor of contemporary fiction at UNC Chapel Hill, will present her novel The Queen of Palmyra, an atmospheric debut about growing up in the changing South during the 1960s. Lee Smith  (Mrs. Darcy and the Blue-Eyed Stranger) calls it "the most powerful and also the most lyrical novel about race, racism, and denial in the American South since To Kill A Mockingbird."
